When Was It Started?
According to the website, CashCrate was founded in 2006 and is currently headquartered in Las Vegas Nevada, USA. From 2008 to 2019, Patrick Clochesy was the company’s listed General Manager.
What is CashCrate All About?
From the time it was founded to around March 2019, CashCrate served as a get-paid-to (GPT) website, that helped members make money in multiple ways.
Tasks that members completed on the site for rewards included completing paid online surveys, playing games, watching videos, taking offers, contests, uploading proof of payment, shopping, referrals, and more.
Unfortunately, CashCrate’s GPT program shut down in April 2019. However, the website’s content has been repurposed into a directory of learning material on how to make money online.
With this in mind, you should understand that the sections that follow do not give an account of what the website is at the moment, but rather what it used to be.
What Does It Cost to Join CashCrate?
Becoming a CashCrate member is free. You do not have to pay a single penny to sign up. On the flip side though, the website will award you a $1 bonus for creating an account with them.
Sign up requirements
All that’s needed to create an account with this website, is your email address and a password. However, you must be 13 years or older to join the site. After creating your account, the company will send you a confirmation email.
Members could start earning as soon as they had confirmed their accounts. The website remains open to freelancers from all over the world.
How Members Made Money with CashCrate
You will notice that we are using the past tense. Just to clarify, this is to insist that this is how the website operated pre-2019. Below are the different ways through which people made money using this website:
Taking Part in Surveys:
There were tons of paid online survey opportunities on the site. This was typically the most popular way to earn with CashCrate.
CashCrate surveys were popular for one reason – there were numerous opportunities because the site partnered with other legit survey websites. In other words, CashCrate offered the surveys on behalf of third-party sites.
Accepting Offers:
Another popular way to earn with the site was by taking up offers. There were two ways to do that: free and paid offers. Free offers were often extended by companies upon signing up with them. These were more like bonuses.
On the other hand, paid offers required you to dig into your pocket to get them. This kind of offer helped users to earn more money.
Shopping:
This option allowed you to save money when doing online shopping on specific top rated e-commerce platforms like Amazon, e-bay, Walmart, and more. Since CashCrate served as a middleman, it’s purpose was to linked it’s members with e-commerce and online retailer sites that offer discounts, cashback, rebates, etc.
Referrals:
CashCrate’s referral program was two-tiered. The top tier allowed you to earn a 20% commission on offer earnings from your referrals. The second tiered earned members a 10% commission on earnings generated by their referrals’ referrals.
Watching Videos and Playing Video Games:
Members could also make money by watching short videos and giving feedback or writing detailed reviews on them.
The site also allowed a person to play video games on affiliate third-party sites for all sorts of rewards.
How Much Money Could One Make with CashCrate?
Since CashCrate did not offer opportunities of it’s own but partnered with third-party sites, members’ potential earnings were subject to a number of influences. Therefore, it is hard to give an average earnings figure with certainty.
However, due to the availability of numerous opportunities from different third-party sites, members reported making between $50 and $100 per month on average.
What We Liked About CashCrate
Several notable elements spoke volumes about the legitimacy of this GPT website. Below are our key takeaways:
-
They Pay in Cash
Unlike most survey and GPT websites that pay in points, CashCrate stood out for paying in cash. Members could see the cash reward for every task before getting started.
Upon requesting a withdrawal, the company would either mail you a check or credit your PayPal account. The website has a $20 minimum withdrawal policy.
-
A Lucrative Referral Program
With the ability to make a 20% commission of your referrals’ earnings and 10% of their referrals, CashCrate’s referral program was a cash bonanza. Members found themselves summoning their salesmanship charm to earn a few extra bucks.
Good vs. Bad Qualities

Scam Alert!!!
If you have been following the discourse of this discussion closely and keenly, you will realize that CashCrate’s GPT program is no longer operational. Since the program shut down in April of 2019, a notorious scammer has created a phishing website using a somewhat similar name and website URL – Cash Crates, CashCrates.co.
The scam site is in no way associated with the site cited throughout this CashCrate review. Vivid indicators of the scam site include the letter “s” at the end of the name and the different URL address. To learn more about the scam, check out this detailed scam review by Ray Alexander.
Our Conclusion For CashCrate:
CashCrate is a legit website that used to offer get-paid-to (GPT) opportunities before shutting the program down in 2019. Since then, the website has repurposed it’s content to offer detailed resource material on how to make money online.
As such, you should not expect to make money completing tasks with CashCrate, but you can use it as a great resource center on how to create wealth online.
