In this article, we will be discussing exactly what a lead capture page is, how it’s created, how to use it for promoting your business, and the consequences of having a good lead capture page, verse having a bad lead capture page. So let’s start with, what a lead capture page, actually is..

an example picture of a Lead Capture Page

What is a Lead Capture Page?

A Lead Capture page, is a webpage that’s designed specifically for the purpose of collecting information from future prospects, who might potentially be interested in what you have to offer. These folks could potentially become your clients in the future. The purpose of collecting their information, is to send the potential customer, content of their particular interest, that could hopefully keep them interested, informed, and engaged about the services and/or products you have to offer. Which could more than likely lead them to doing business with you in the future.

A lead capture page, is also known as a, “landing page”. These landing, or lead capture pages are usually built with a single focused objective. To get your personal information. They’re built with a tight “Call to Action” (CTA) objective. For example, “sign up now, for more information”, is what the page might say. You then fill in a few quick details, and your pre-signed up!

How to make a brilliant lead capture page?

Making a good capture page, is very important for your business. The more leads your page attracts, the more growth your business will experience. Keep in mind, that without a good capture page, most of your users that enter your website won’t become a lead. There’s various reasons for this too, but one of main reason that keeps users from becoming a lead, is the beginning, improper structure, of your capture page. Usually, when a user enters a website, he/she is looking for a specific item, or some particular content.

If your capture page is unable to convey to the user how it can help, it means that you haven’t created a sufficient capture page. Therefore, the lead capture page should be very specific, and focused on telling the users that you can provide a solution to their problem. If you can do that well, you’ll be able to get lots of leads, resulting in a major increase in sales.

Moreover, a good lead capture page is simple to the point, and easy to navigate. There should be very little readable, captivating information on the front, that focuses on the problem you want to address. You can add other valuable information down the line. Also, avoid writing big paragraphs. Add very short sentences. Moreover, it is a good practice to add a short video about your product, or service, because many people prefer to learn visually.

Here’s some tips that’ll help you create an awesome lead capture page:

  • Use headings, and keep them as descriptive as possible.
  • Use captivating words to get user’s attention.
  • Avoid placing interrupting ads, and don’t ask for too much information. You should be happy getting a name, and email address only.
  • Add short videos.
  • Add a picture of a familiar face, to gain people’s trust.
  • Offer an incentive, or a trial period.

You can create a lead capture page for your website, either by hiring a developer, or by doing it yourself. There’s plenty of free, paid software, available for designing, and creating capture pages, that would work well in teaching you how to do so.

WordPress also provides certain plugins for creating capture pages. So, if your website is on WordPress (private hosting), creating a good capture page won’t be hard at all.

How to use a capture page for promoting your business?

Now that you have learned how to create a brilliant lead capture page, you may be wondering how to use these capture pages for promoting your product, or business. Well, there are several different ways to drive a large amount of traffic to your capture page.

  • Start a blog: If you already don’t have one, create a compelling blog for your business. Then, place links on it, that would lead to your capture page. Share your blogs on social media networks, to attract a larger audience.

  • Place ads: It’s a great way to drive traffic to your capture page. So if you can afford it, start placing ads on popular social media websites.

  • Add links to other social media accounts: Add links to your capture page, blogs, your YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn accounts, to reach more potential leads.

  • Add back links: Links that connect to your website, that are placed on other people’s websites, gives your site better rankings within the search engines. so try adding more back links for better ranking results. The higher your site’s rank, the more traffic you’ll receive.

A picture of a green road sign that reads consequences just ahead

Consequences of good and bad lead capture pages

As mentioned earlier, the ending goal of a lead capture page, is to get more sales by attracting more leads. A good capture page should be able to do that. However, they’re also other advantages you get, by making a good lead capture page. These benefits are as followed:

  • It attracts the users, as they find the content they are looking for, quite upfront.
  • It takes the users away from the other diversions, and presents your “call to action”, right in front of the potential lead.
  • A good capture page, also helps you advertise your deals. You don’t need to create a separate page for advertising your deals. You can do all of that on your capture page.
  • It will give you plenty of valuable user data, which is really important for business. It’s one of the most important aspects that help shape the model of a business.

A good lead capture page, has multiple advantages. In the same way a bad lead page, also has its negative consequences. Some of the most important negative consequences of creating a bad lead capture page, are listed below:

  • If you have added uninteresting, irrelevant information to your capture page, no one will be willing to provide their email address, for further content.
  • A bad capture page will affect your site in a negative way, because users will perceive your site as irrelevant, as it won’t be addressing their problem upfront.
  • You will have a very low conversion rate, as it won’t be able to get user’s attention.

My Conclusion:

Having a lead capture page on your website, is a great thing. It will cause a considerable growth in your business, by attracting more leads. Therefore, create an amazing lead capture page for yourself, if you haven’t already yet.

Why choosing the right niche is important

If you want to make money from your blogs or website, it is very important that your niche has a good ad rate, and it attracts a number of users. Here are the reasons why choosing the right niche is so important:

  • It increases credibility: By choosing a niche, you present yourself as an expert of that topic. That raises your credibility, and makes the users think of you as a reliable source.

  • It makes a profit: You should know that every niche is not profitable. You may think of a topic to be really fun, and attractive, but it may not work because you missed the calculations that were extremely necessary before choosing a niche.

  • It makes you an expert: Blogging about your niche will make you much competitive in that field. You will start to become known for that topic. It will incredibly increase your knowledge and will provide you some amazing opportunities to shine out, like writing an E-book or speaking to public or appearing on the mainstream media.

For these reasons, instead of choosing a random topic, you should carefully analyze your opportunities and risks, to make sure that your niche pays you well.

10 good ways to find a niche

Finding a good niche is very important. Sometimes, it can be really bothering. It can take a lot of days to come up with a good idea. However, it is the time worth spending. Here are 10 good ways to find an awesome niche for your website, or blog:

  1. Brainstorming: Your first move towards finding a good niche, should be brainstorming. Our brain carries a lot of amazing information and ideas. You just need to get them out. Take these ideas and check them by Google Trends or other tools on the internet. It will show you the popularity of these topics throughout the years.
  2. Interests and Strengths: Think about the things you love, and the things that are your strengths. There is nothing better than a niche in which you are already strong in.
  3. Research: Know about the market, and it’s trends. Take examples, and analyze them. They may prove helpful to you.
  4. Seminars and Conferences: Don’t miss the opportunities of attending seminars, and conferences. You may get a couple of good ideas there.
  5. Local Communities: Look around your community. Try to observe their concerns, and habits. Get in touch with them if needed. They can provide you lots of information, that could help you to decide your niche.
  6. Social Media Trends: Social media trends, are a good source of getting the highlights of the popular topics. You will come across plenty good ideas there.
  7. SEO Analytics and Insights: Google has a number of paid, and free tools to help you find out what’s trending globally and regionally. Google Trends,  Google Keyword Planner and Google Analytics are some the well-known tools that will help to get insights about the potential niches.
  8. Other People’s Experiences: You can learn by the examples of other people who have tried certain niches before. You can learn by their failures or achievements, the do’s and don’ts of the market.
  9. Focus on specific people: Rather than focusing on all the people, you should target a specific type of people with specific challenges. You should not go too broad.
  10. Go for Popularity: Lastly, if you don’t want to take a risk, select a popular market, industry, or conversion. In this case, you would not have to care about an audience. An audience is already there. You just need to showcase your work. However, you need to make sure that there is not too much competition in that niche.

A 3D picture of a wooden weighing tool

Easy Niche vs. Harder Niche (Examples)

Easy niches are those where you get low competition and more profit, and it requires very little effort. On the other hand, harder niches demand more research, deliver less profits, and contain a higher competition. So, let’s discuss a few easy, and hard niches.

Some of the easiest niches, can be found in affiliate marketing. For instance, you can choose Electric Shavers, Trimmers, Back-Massagers, Karaoke Machines and Lazertag Systems as your niche. These topics can earn you a fair amount of money, as they give a better commission rate with each sale, and contain less competition. So, you can try the niches like these to get a quick start to the market.

On the other hand, the fields like Banking, Insurance, Sports and Healthcare are highly competitive. The marketers who enter these niches, often face problems of getting revenues out of them. In these niches, you need lots of quality content to attract your audience. The reason why, is because there is already plenty of content out there about it, and if you don’t make a difference with your content, it won’t bring a lot of fortune for you. Therefore, unless you have something very unique, you should avoid highly popular niches that contain a lot of competition.

Keywords: What They Are and How to Use Them the Right Way

A 3D picture of an all white character holding a magnifying glass

Searching for things online..

Whenever you make a search for something online, have you ever wondered why just a few websites come up on the first page constantly? Is it because they created the contents first? Well, let’s find out.

The web is a large archive of information, that for every specific search you make, you can find thousands, hundreds of thousands or even millions of websites, with related search results. So, to better help you with your search, a search engine (e.g. Google, Yahoo!, Bing etc.), ranks these sites automatically and very fast, based on some specific criteria. These criteria can range from the quantity, and quality of relevant information present on the webpage, to the number of links channeled to the webpage.

A cartoon picture of a key, and the words key words & phrases

Search engines, and keywords working together:

To better understand this concept, let’s take a look at how a popular search engine like Google works. When you make a search on Google, let’s say “best soccer player in 2014″, Google goes into its index, and with the help of its crawlers, it pulls out every single webpage that mentions some specific keywords related to your search, which in this case will be “best”, “soccer player” and “2014″. It then uses an algorithm, which has been programmed to follow some specific criteria, to rank all the web pages from number one to infinity, and all these take about 0.28 seconds, or faster to process.

A website’s ranking for some specific keywords on a search engine, to a large extent, determines the number of organic (or ‘natural’) traffic, it’s going to get. So for a website to be ranked high, it has to be optimized in a format that will meet the criteria of the search engine. This process is called, Search Engine Optimization (SEO). Search Engine Optimization (SEO), is a division of Search Engine Marketing (SEM), which encompasses of all marketing strategies for search.

There are two types searches. You have the “organic (‘natural’) search”, where web pages are being rank based on their optimization. You also have the ‘paid search’, where a website pays to get ranked high for some specific keywords. To generate free organic traffic, a website has to be fully optimized, using regularly updated SEO techniques, and one of which is the implementation of ‘keywords’ in your web contents.

A picture of a bunch of words all having the same meaning

What Are Keywords, And Why Are They So Important?

Keyword(s), or combination keywords, are what you enter on a search engine (e.g. Google, Bing, Yahoo! etc) when you want to make a search online. These keywords can range from just a word, or a short phrase (e.g. “best soccer player”), to very long phrases, or ‘long-tail’ keywords (e.g. “best soccer player in 2014 with the highest goals”).

These keywords are what search engine crawlers use, to identify your contents, and correctly classify them as either relevant, or irrelevant to a particular search. So a detailed keyword research on your niche, and the correct positioning of these keywords on your website, can help skyrocket your ranking, if done the right way.

A screenshot of a red arrow pointing to the first search result in a Google search engine

What to Do Before Your Search For Keywords:

Before you search for keywords to use, you must take the time to study your competition. Your competitor’s are those websites in your niche, that rank high for the specific keywords you are aiming to rank for. It is best you visit these sites to check out what they are doing differently from others, and how often they use the keywords in their contents. Are they over-optimizing or fairly optimizing their contents? How long, and rich is their contents? How many internal links do they have on their web pages? These are examples of information you should gather, before embarking on a keyword research.

Another important thing you should do, is carry out a detailed research on what people that visit your niche look for, and how they search for the kind of contents you create. Also, you should know that there are competitive keywords, and non-competitive keywords. Short phrases are usually more competitive to rank for, while long-tail keywords are usually less competitive. This is normal, because not many websites consciously optimize their contents to rank high for them, which means you can take advantage.

You can achieve this by using search engine keyword tools such as Jaaxy, Google Keyword Planner, SEM Rush, Moz Keyword Explorer, WordStream, and many others, which will help you analyze each keyword(s), you want to rank for. These keyword tools, give you information on the number of searches, the competitiveness, impressions, and so on.

How to find the right keywords:

Here are important steps you should take, when trying to find the right keyword(s), that goes well with the type of content you create, on your website and niche.

Step 1

Define Your Website’s Theme

Before you set out to find keywords for your website, you need to document specific, and cogent details of your website. Take your time describing everything pertaining to your website like:

  • What niche does your website/business belong to?
  • What type of services do you deliver?
  • What makes your method of delivery different from others?
  • What special services do you render?
  • Who are your audiences and where are they located?

These are just a few points to consider. Make sure you answer questions that will help you classify your services better. By doing this, choosing the appropriate keywords to use, will be pretty easier.

A cartoon picture of a light bulb and 4 different color heads with light bulbs inside them

Step 2

Brainstorm Keywords

When you are through describing your theme, you can then use the information gathered to list out all the keywords you think are related to each point. To do this, you have to think like your audiences/visitors, by coming up with keywords you think they will search for, when they are in need of the type of service(s) you provide. There are no limits to the number of keywords you can list. Just do your best, and have fun while doing it. You can ask yourself the following questions:

  • What would I search for to try to find my product?
  • What would someone else name/title, what I have to sell?
  • How do regular people talk about the products, or services I offer?
  • What do the experts call my products, or services?

Step 3

Check out Your Competitors Keywords

Check out your highest ranking competitors. You can select as many highly ranked websites as possible. Study their contents properly, sieve out the keywords they use, and the frequency of each keyword their using. Document the keywords, and group them appropriately. Then you can go ahead to compare them to your brainstormed keyword ideas, make relevant adjustments (add, remove and so on). Compile all your keywords, and get ready to sieve out a few.

You are never suppose to steal their contents. Just their keywords.

A 3D picture of a green check mark and 3 blocks that read S.E.O

Step 4

Evaluate Keywords Using Keyword Tools

Now, it is time for you to eliminate some keywords on your list, because not all of them can be used. You should also avoid over-optimizing your contents. Search engines like Google, frown upon stuff like that.

What you do now, is use a keyword tool to analyze each keyword. Most of these tools are web applications, and some can be added to your browser’s plug-in. Some popular keyword tools are:

  • Google AdWords
  • Screaming Frog
  • SEM Rush
  • Google Trends
  • WordStream

After selecting a keyword planner, you can then go ahead and input each keyword into the tool’s database. The data base should give you some useful information about that keyword, that you could use on your site. If not, you could simply discard the keyword and the information found. For a keyword to be selected, it must have the following characteristics:

  • Low competition keyword
  • A high number of searches (per month)
  • Niche-related
  • Long-tail keyword (easier to rank for)

Select a few keywords that meet the criteria. You don’t need like a million keywords to rank high, just a relevant few.

A cartoon picture of a key and the word, words

STEP 5

Insert the Keywords into Your Webpage and Contents

The final, and recurring step to smartly position these keywords into your webpage, and web content. This process is commonly referred to as On-Page SEO, and you can optimize your website with your keywords, by editing the following features on your website.

  • Page Title: Your title is one of the most important parts of your entire content. This is because it’s the first thing visitors will read before deciding to go ahead with reading the article. Your title should contain relevant keywords that will help attract a reader, and also help optimize your content.

  • Meta Description: A Meta description, is located just under your page title and it usually contains a brief summary of what the page is about. It is usually about 150 characters long, and keywords can be squeezed in smartly.

  • The URL: It is important you insert a primary keyword in the page’s URL, and each keyword should be separated by a dash (-).

Example: example.com/digital-marketing-guide.

  • Heading Tags: Each page on your website should have one H1 heading tag, with the primary keyword, and it should rhyme with the page title and the URL or the page. This H1 tag should appear at the top of the page, and should be the first thing people see when they arrive on a page.

  • Page Content: It is very important that you incorporate keywords into your page contents. Select a few keywords that relate to the content, and repeat them at a low frequency. You don’t need to over-optimize the page; a keyword appearing 2 0r 4 times is alright, 10 or 20 is just not right. Note that over-optimizing can especially affect your search engine ranking.

  • Images and Videos: It is relevant you use images on your website because it increases interactions, and draws the attention of your visitors better than just a boring plain text.

It is important you insert keywords into your images, and videos because a search engine cannot identify them. So naming/tagging them will help, and will also help boost your search engine ranking.

Your images can be optimized in two ways:
File name (Each word should be separated with dashes (-), e.g. digital marketing-guide.jpg)
ALT text (it should text should match the file name, without dashes, e.g. Digital Marketing Guide)

A screen shot of the word keyword and a bunch of other words, along with a 3D white man holding a dart board with darts in it

My Conclusion:

By now, I will assume you know what keywords are, and how useful, and important they are in achieving a successful search engine ranking. Just have it in mind, that keyword implementation is just one of many ways to increase your ranking online. So follow the steps above and start gaining free organic traffic today!

Top 10 Ways to Make Money Online Using Twitter

A cartoon picture of a blue bird winking its eye, while holding a Twitter sign

10 Top ways to make money online using Twitter..

Social media platforms have become money making opportunities. Twitter is among the social media platforms that offers these opportunities. There are a variety of options to explore when aiming to generate income from Twitter, the top 10 ways are listed below. You may have seen a few of your favorite social media influencers use a few of these techniques, but don’t limit yourself – try a few of them on your personal account!

1.) Sponsored Tweets

Sponsored tweets are a good option for those of you that have thousands of followers, or are in the process of landing into that following range. These sponsored tweets are used by brands to utilize popular Twitter “influencers” to advertise their products. These brands pay for each advertisement and your job is to simply create a tweet based on guidelines set by the brand.

2.) Affiliate Marketing

I’m sure you’ve seen affiliate marketing as an option for making money online. In fact, I have an article about my #1 recommendation for an affiliate marketing program. But these opportunities are not limited – they expand to social media platforms like Twitter! Affiliate marketing offers a percentage of sales based on the purchases made through the link provided by the company’s affiliate program.

3.) Crowdsourcing

If you have an organization that needs funding, crowdsourcing can be a great way to present your organization to your Twitter following. Crowdsourcing will allow your followers to contribute to the organization.

4.) Selling Products

Selling products on Twitter also relates to sponsored tweets. There are millions of product options available online – why not promote them? If you offer products, even better, promote those too! Use your 140 characters to tweet about your use of a product and adding a link (payment would be based on a prior agreement with the company).

A cartoon picture of the twitter bird chirping over a pile of money

5.) Ask for Funding

Have you ever heard the saying, “Sometimes the best way to get something is to ask for it?” Ask for the funding that you want. Sometimes it’s as simple as a tweet requesting money to your PayPal or sharing your code for your CashApp, Venmo, Patreon, or GoFundMe account. It’s easier to have followers interested in sending funding when it is for something that benefits the community as a whole – so consider your business, organization, or other cause as the focus of the funding.

6.) Promote your Service

If you offer a service, take advantage of Twitter’s platform to advertise it! Instead of, or in addition to, having sponsored tweets, advertise your services in your tweet. You can add a link to your website and encourage your followers to retweet it so that you expand the number of people that have a chance to click your link.

7.) YouTube

YouTube video links can be shared with anyone, anywhere. Start sharing your YouTube link on Twitter to maneuver your Twitter traffic towards your monetized YouTube videos. This will increase your YouTube subscriptions and views, which in turn will increase your money.

8.) Share Your Referral Links

Twitter offers a small number of characters, but enough to share a referral link with a few clever words to convince your followers to click it. If you’re a consistent Airbnb user, share your referral link to get a few bucks added towards your next trip. Or for any other site that you use often, share your next experience with that site through a picture or few clever words and referral link.

9.) Advertise a Course About Twitter

Why not make money online using Twitter by advertising ways to make money on Twitter? As confusing as that sounds, allow me to explain. The same things that sparked your interest on how to earn money on Twitter has affected others (many of whom may already be following you). Use this sparked interest to your advantage by tweeting about a course or blog that you’ve created about ways to make money on Twitter. This will direct your followers to your website so that they can sign up and PAY for the course to receive your expertise.

A cartoon picture of a blue bird blowing out dollar and Twitter signs, while flying thru the sky

10.) Increase Your Twitter Following

The reality is that when you have a large twitter following, opportunities come to you. Brands pitch their products and services to you, in hopes that you will share it with others – and they pay you for it. Make sure that your followers are active, which means you should avoid buying followers. None of the other techniques will work if your followers are not actively interacting with your account.

Observe your favorite social media influencers and take note of their money-making techniques on Twitter. Establish trust with your followers so that they trust your opinions.

TOP 20 Pros and Cons of Attending Webinars/Seminars

Seminars and webinars can be crucial methods of development for your business. Seminars are topic based conferences and are assigned locations each year. As technology grew into the business world, webinars became a simplistic, convenient form of seminars. Webinars can be specific to a section of the business world, but are most often used for meetings or training. There are multiple benefits and mishaps from attending these two. To provide insight into both, below are the top 20 pros and cons of attending seminars and webinars.

Seminar Pros:

1.) Professional Development

Seminars offer insight that extends beyond articles and your colleagues. The professional development opportunities could largely impact your employees, which in turn positively impacts your business.

2.) Learning Experience

You could have a special learning experience as a seminar attendee. This learning experience can be a stronger understanding of a subject you’re keen with, or new understanding of an unfamiliar subject. Either way, you can return equipped with valuable insight into your field.

3.) Observe Competition

The best way to beat your competition is to observe and further understand them. Seminars offer insight into your competitors, which provides avenues for overcoming them.

4.) Motivating

If you’re feeling less experienced than your colleagues or find yourself unsure of your ability to complete your daily work tasks – try attending a seminar and apply those new ideas towards your business.

5.) Networking

There are a variety of networking opportunities at seminars. There are often expert speakers attending seminars and you can interact with them one on one. Take advantage of these interactions by exchanging contact information, as networking is a vital business technique.

Webinar Pros

6.) Affordable

Webinars are an affordable way to have the seminar experience. Regardless of the type of webinar, they are often free.

7.) Accessible

As an additional pro, webinars are easily accessible. They are often done through phone conferences or web cam voiceovers.

8.) Unlimited Spaces

Unlike seminars, webinars have unlimited spaces because it doesn’t have a physical location. This means you don’t have to plan ahead or rush to get a spot in the webinar – you can sign up for it at any time.

9.) Flexibility

Webinars are a flexible opportunity because it offers an accessible, affordable option of expanding your knowledge or attending meetings for an important business cause.

10.) Location

Because webinars occur through the phone or online, your location is irrelevant – you can be in the coffee shop, office, or library and still participate in the webinar.

Seminar Cons:

11.) Limited Spacing

Seminars offer a limited number of spaces. This is detrimental because it could mean you miss an opportunity to attend the seminar. If the seminar is essential for your professional development, this could prolong your business success.

12.) Cost

Unlike webinars, the cost of seminars can be pricey. Again, if the seminar is essential or overall beneficial for your business, this could negatively impact your ability to attend.

13.) Inconvenience

Seminars tend to be located away from your business, which is inconvenient when you need to be involved on site of your business. You may not have the time to travel to the seminar location – this is where priorities for your business weighs in your decision to attend.

14.) Possible Waste of Time

If you find yourself drifting away in the middle of the seminar and realizing your time would have been better spent at your business – you will regret the time, money, and effort placed into the seminar.

15.) Disappointment

Although numerous seminars are conducted by experts in their field, there are times where some of the speakers are on the same level of thinking as those colleagues that are hanging on to their jobs by a thread. This can be a waste of time for you and your business, which can create unnecessary problems after the seminar.

Webinar Cons:

16.) Technological Difficulties

Although webinars are easily accessible because of technology, this can also backfire. Technological difficulties are inevitable and can ruin your ability to participate in the webinar. Some webinars are required, so losing internet service or having crackling during the webinar can become a bad situation.

17.) Poor Focus Levels

Despite the convenience and location of webinars, when your surroundings are distracting or you struggle to multitask, you develop poor focus levels. These poor focus levels can cause you miss valuable information for the benefit of your business.

18.) Lack of Teamwork

Teamwork is valuable in the business world, but webinars remove this opportunity. If your webinar is required for training techniques you must relay to your employees, you will be forced to convey the information on your own. This requires large focus levels, which as mentioned above, can be awfully difficult.

19.) Restricted

Sometimes webinars are voiceovers, which restricts interaction with the speaker. If you misunderstand something during the webinar, you will be restricted in ways to ask for clarification.

20.) Incompatible

In addition to technological difficulties, your device may be incompatible with the software used for the webinar. This is extremely inconvenient and will remove more time from your business, as you attempt to find alternative ways to participate.
